About Us

From the deep waters of the Amazon to the cascading rivers of the Himalayas, our world has always recycled water and nutrients through its own inherent biocycle. The countless flora species act as silent custodians of our environment, absorbing nutrients and storing carbon dioxide from the air. Could we borrow this inspiration? Can we scale it up and do it faster, thereby harnessing this process to fight against environmental degradation and climate change?

At Biomend, this isn't just a dream. It's what we do every single day. Our bio-based solutions utilize the nutrient absorption capabilities of plants, turning waste into resources. Through our methods, we extract and recycle nutrients from wastewater, while simultaneously reducing CO2 emissions. Our collective commitment is a steadfast resolve - to transform every wastewater treatment plant across the globe into a resource recovery facility by 2035, and we won't stop until we have achieved this.

We meld the perfect blend of scientific insight, technological proficiency, practical experience, and strategic implementation to make resource recovery and recycling from wastewater a low-cost, high-quality reality. Our success won't only mitigate environmental degradation and climate change, but will also generate a world where we recycle more than we waste, a legacy we can proudly pass on to our future generations, and stimulate an industry that could become one of the most impactful in history. If you share our vision of changing the world, we invite you to join us.

Biomend is about more than just recycling – we are about creating a cycle of resource utilization that feeds into community resilience. The plants grown in wastewater aren't just waste disposal tools. They are bioresources for generating biogas, providing communities with a consistent, renewable energy source and further mitigating environmental degradation. Our goal isn't just to recycle, but to create strong, self-sustaining communities powered by renewable energy. If you believe in this mission, come join us on this journey.

The Role

We are on the hunt for a diligent Mechanical Project Engineer to spearhead our future ventures and bring Biomend's resource recycling vision to reality! This role is not only incredibly rewarding but also carries immense responsibility - you will be vital to our mission of recycling countless tons of nutrients from wastewater, utilizing your expertise in managing intricate, multi-disciplinary, capital projects from initiation to completion.

Tasked with the design and integration of our large-scale mechanical systems, you will work closely with our engineering teams and external vendors to create site-level mechanical frameworks, develop specifications for custom equipment, design and fabricate mechanical assemblies, maintain project timelines within the overarching program schedule, perform technical economic analysis, pinpoint roadblocks, and devise solutions to overcome them.

As a project engineer, you are expected to understand the grand scheme of things such as site layout, equipment compatibility standards, energy and communication infrastructure, permitting, supply chain, and partnerships. At the same time, you should have an eye for detail to manage your projects efficiently.

At Biomend, our work is more than just a job – it's about using technology to restore and protect our environment. Our process of extracting nutrients from wastewater and converting them into biogas not only reduces environmental degradation but also creates renewable energy resources for communities. If you believe in this mission and have the skills and dedication to make it a reality, come join us as our Mechanical Project Engineer.

What you will bring

Your ability to 'get the job done' has been integral to your success in planning and leading intricate, long-term projects from conception to fruition. Coupled with a collaborative mindset and robust communication skills, you excel at coordinating with vendors and third parties across diverse disciplines, as well as managing internal stakeholders.

The Technical Stuff:

1.      Mechanical Design: You bring proficiency in designing systems and components to meet necessary specifications, often utilizing CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software.

2.      Materials Knowledge: Your understanding of the properties and applications of various engineering materials is comprehensive.

3.      Thermodynamics: You are well-versed in the principles of heat, energy, and work, and their application to practical engineering problems.

4.      Structural Analysis: You can adeptly assess the forces and pressures acting on mechanical structures and systems.

5.      Fluid Mechanics: You comprehend how fluids behave under different conditions and their interaction with different materials and structures.

6.      Automation and Control Systems: You have the knowledge of the design, operation, and optimization of systems that control mechanical processes and movements.

7.      Manufacturing Techniques: You are familiar with machining processes, assembly methods, and quality control standards.

8.      Software Proficiency: Your competence in using industry-standard software for simulation and analysis, such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, MATLAB, ANSYS, etc., sets you apart.

9.      Please note that you don't have to tick all the boxes to be a perfect fit - we're open to learning something new from you too! What matters most is your passion for our mission and the skills you bring to make it a reality. If you are passionate about this opportunity and feel you have the potential to succeed, we invite you to apply!

At Biomend, our work goes beyond just recycling – it's about using technology to recover valuable resources from wastewater, mitigate environmental degradation, and create sustainable energy for communities. If you share our vision and have the skills to make it a reality, come join us as our Mechanical Engineer.
